TOHATSU EXPANDS INTO CANADA

TOHATSU OUTBOARDS TO BE DISTRIBUTED IN CANADA

Tohatsu America Corp., distributor of Tohatsu outboards, announced that it will be officially introducing the Tohatsu brand in Canada for the 2007 model year.

The Tohatsu outboard line will make its debut at the Toronto Boat Show in January and the Vancouver Boat Show in February. Tohatsu will be introduced as the leader in new technology outboards. It offers outboards from 115 hp to 40 hp utilizing its proprietary TLDI® (Two-Stroke Low-Pressure Direct Injection) system and outboards from 30 hp to 2 hp featuring a four-stroke system.

“The reason we are introducing the Tohatsu brand to Canada is the tremendous growth we have experienced over the past few years and the realization that while our marketing effort for Tohatsu is global, we were missing a huge opportunity for growth in Canada,” said Tohatsu America Corp.’s president Hiro Wakabayashi.

The opening of its new state-of-the art manufacturing facility in Japan with the capability of producing 200,000 outboards per year and the new and expanded corporate headquarters and distribution center in Farmers Branch, Texas, gives the company the ability to successfully introduce their products to new markets.

“Canada is an integral part of Tohatsu’s future. We are excited about the tremendous growth opportunity Canada will bring us.” said Kurt Gardner, National Sales Manager for Tohatsu America Corp.

The rollout is already underway with many Canadian dealers well stocked just in time to serve the upcoming boating season.
