6 Sail Pro
Tohatsu America Corp. has added the new 6hp Sail Pro engine to their lineup, making it the smallest four-stroke 25” shaft outboard motor available.

This exclusive Tohatsu engine comes equipped with a high thrust sail drive propeller and a new built-in 5amp, 12volt charging system complete with charging cable already installed to power lights, batteries or other electrical devices.

The 6hp engine has a displacement of 123 cubic centimeters (7.5 cubic inches).  It also has a forward, neutral and reverse gear shift that offers a gear ratio of 2.15:1.  The Sail Pro’s 3.1 US gallon/12 liter fuel tank and 59 pound weight just add to the long list of benefits of owning this motor.

15/20 Power Tilt
Tohatsu America Corp. is proud to announce the launch of its new 15 and 20 hp Power Tilt engine.

When it comes to boating, the less complications the better your boating experience. That’s why we’ve added a Power Tilt feature on our 15/20 horsepower models. The new Power Tilt option allows you to electronically tilt the engine out of the water for transportation or storage with just a push of a button.

The newly designed engine improves functionality and convenience with its light and compact power tilt and transom bracket.  The engine has a displacement of 351 cubic centimeters (21.42 cubic inches).  It also has a forward, neutral and reverse gear shift that offers a gear ratio of 13:28.

With 15” and 20” shaft options available, this engine is ideal for inflatable, small fishing and pontoon boats.

This added Power Tilt option will simplify your boating experience so you’ll be able to focus your time on what really matters, because boating isn’t meant to be complicated.

9.8 Power Tilt
Tohatsu America Corp., announced the launch of its new 9.8 hp Power Tilt model, to be released in Spring 2009. The new engine will be on display at the Miami International Boat Show, along with Tohatsu’s full line, at booth number I98-I100.

This lightweight, yet powerful compact offers is the lightest model in the 9.8 hp class. Its power tilt and transom bracket allow for convenience and a greater operating experience, making the 9.8 Power Tilt the ideal choice for sailors and boaters.

The new four-stroke, two-cylinder engines are available with manual or electric starting systems.

Tohatsu’s 9.8 horsepower has already been won an editor’s choice award for being light, powerful and compact.  With the new added Power Tilt feature, it’s sure to cause waves in the industry as well as out on the water.
